My second Holiday mini order arrived on Wednesday. I had so much fun today creating with the Joyful Season Letterpress Plate (Item # 120981, bought from www.gratefulstampers.stampinup.net). The first cards were made using craft ink which is recommended. Then I tried using StampinWrite markers, they worked great, too. It is much easier to color the individual images with markers. The first few images were made on Whisper White cardstock. then watercolor paper and Textured Cardstock. Definitely got deeper impression with the latter papers. Some of the images are watercolored after printing. The colors to match the new Candy Cane Designer Fabric (Item # 121715), which are Garden Green, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride and Real Red). A 6x12" strip of fabric was backed with Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive sheet (Item # 120805). Then cut with Bigz XL die Tasteful Trim (Item # 120893). This makes the fabric easy to cut and adhere to the card front. Let me know what you think about these images.       Matching Cards 07/18/2010
The great thing about creating your own gift items is that you can make matching cards. Yesterday I posted anniversary frames that I made. Today are the cards that match. They are gate fold cards that use the Night & Day and Cast a Spell Designer Series Papers, which are still available for as downloads for My Digital Studio. Here is a bracelet that I created with grungeboard and Sizzix Daisy Flowers #2 and Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. The board is coated with white acrylic paint, then sponged with Rich Razleberry ink and spritzed with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz. The center of the flower is a Rhinestone Brad!   This was created using WELCOME Decor Elements in white, medium size (15 1/8"x2 1/8") item # 114750. I painted the wooden plaque with white garden paint tinted with Night of Navy ink refill (#103033). Then applied the Welcome phrase using the Decor Elements Applicator (#114285). I sealed it with ployurethane, since is is hanging on my door outside and I want to be able to change the holiday motifs. The snowflakes were made with the Snowflakes set #2 sizzlits (#113449) and Decor Elements sheets in white (#114335) and the Sizzix Big Shot (#113429). More detailed pictures are below. I created this card in response to a challenge on Pals Paper Artist. This week we are "In the Pink" for Breast Cancer Awareness... celebrating cancer survivors, and remembering those that continue to battle, as well as the countless number of family and friends that have been touched by this disease.  I used Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White cardstock. The new Beary Best Friends stamp set from Build-a-Bear (#118052, $18.95), this is in the Holiday Mini Catalog. You can order this set at gratefulstampers.staqmpinup.net. Also used were Wonderful Words (retired set) and Scrap Pink Kit from Sizzix to create the textured ribbon background and pink ribbon. My Birth Mom (Pat) is a 5 year breast cancer survivor! So I am passionate about supporting breast cancer awareness. |
